Guynemer 120mm figure from Model Cellar

Hi,

I'm new here at the Aerodrome and would like to introduce Model Cellar Productions. We are a company that produces figures and model accessories in a variety of scales. Our products are cast in resin, and we have a special interest in WWI.

Our newest WWI item is a 120mm figure of Georges Guynemer. It was sculpted by Tom Sollers. The likeness is incredible. The medals were done in photoetch brass and applied to the master sculpt. Therefore, the medals on the figure are "dead on" accurate and, when cast in resin, are very clean and crisp.

Two other pieces we have released this year are 200mm busts of Hindenburg and Foch. Although they are not aviation subjects, they are "WWI" and you might find them interesting and different.

All the items are unassembled and unpainted and come with a painting guide. You can see them on the front page of our website ModeCellar.com and they can be ordered directly from our site. Sorry for directing you to our site, but I don't know how to post photos here =).

Please check our site for WWI modeling products - I hope you find something you like!
Regards,
Paul Ondeck

Hi Paul! Welcome aboard.I am presently using a lot of your 1/16th WW1 figures in my latest diorama "Memories of Flight School" and can vouch for their quality.Take a look over on the "How I build dioramas"thread for your figures.
Cheers! John.

Thanks "Bshatzer" for correcting the link. I guess I was just a little too anxious about my first post here on the Aerodrome and I messed up the most critical part. Thanks again =).

...and John, thanks for your support. I have seen your dio and it looks great!!

I haven't bought this figure yet but it sure looks like a beauty.Ya gotta love the French for their fancy uniforms. If I can figure a way of working it into my storyline I sure would like to.So far I have Canadian,American and British pilots in the diorama maybe a little French representation would be a good idea.Maybe have him and Lufbury together standing on the ramp area.Hmmm...
Cheers! John.

Thumbs up Thanks Guys!

Paul Ondeck, I dont know who the artist is that developed your Billy B. and Eddie R. figures but he may like to know that those two figures were what inspired me to do the "Memories of Flight School " diorama. When I saw the Billy B "thumbs up" and the laughing Eddie R figures I just had to build a storyline around them.
As a dioramist I owe so much to those mostly unsung artists who contribute so greatly to my dioramas.Without them I wouln't be able to do what I do ,as miniature sculpting of the human figure is an artistic challenge that I have yet to take up.After I get this diorama thing out of my blood (if ever) I hope to join the ranks of miniature figures carvers using wood as my medium as that is the material that I am most familiar with.Anyway thanks again and keep those great figures coming as we dioramists need all the help we can get!
Cheers! John.

Hi Paul,
The Guynemer figure looks great! I will probably get one of these soon to go with the Lufbery, Richthofen, Rickenbacker and a few other infantry figures in my collection. Any chance of a Charles Nungesser to add to the collection? With the photoetched medals this would be a great one to add.
Thanks,
Dave

Greetings Paul; of Model Cellar fame! I have been to your website and while I think the figures are prime examples of great sculpting I am broken hearted that there are no common scales for those of us in the smaller scales. Most of our pieces are in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32. Can we hope that you will pay homage to these orphans of the WWI modeling venue?

Hi Stephen,

AHHHH, your question regarding 1/48 and 1/32 WWI stuff is very prolific! We are, at the moment, working on both!!

A 1/48 pilot is coming first, then a 1/32. All I will say at the moment is that they will be top notch pieces since they will be done by a VERY ...let's say ..."Good" sculptor =)!

Keep your eyes peeledl!!

Paul
