New 1/48 French Pilot from Model Cellar

Hi folks,

The Model Cellar would like to wish everyone here at the 'Drome Happy New Year!

The modeling work on here is astounding and never ceases to amaze me. So, to go with all these awesome builds, here is another figure.

We would like to announce our Jnauary '09 release:

Item #48006
WWI French Pilot Officer

This is another superb figure by Mike Good. So much clean and crisp detail packed into such a small scale - including airman's badge and collar insignia!

Here are some photos:

Hope you like him!
Keep up the great modeling work!

Paul

Well, I figured out how Mike Good puts all that detail into such tiny figures.

Mike Good himself is only 1.4 inches tall. His sculptures are life size.

Is that based on Capt. Thenault? Would love to see a Lufbery and Guynemer in 1/48 as well...

Dave,

It is just a generic French figure.

Hi Mike,
You didn't use any photo of a certain pilot for a general outline? well anyway looks great. Would also love to see a Nungesser figure in 1/48 and 120mm, and even one of the busts like the Lufbery one that you did.

Yes I did. It was this photo of Argeyev that was used although it was not intended to be a portrait of him (no attempt was made to copy his face, but rather to create a "French" looking one. I wanted to create a generic figure.

Cheers!!

Mike
