CUBIC DOLLARS!

Ah, Jenny... My first "real" love as a kid. Even slept under the wing of one once when I was 15, now I'm 52 and still in love with her!

I was in discussion recently with the owner of an UNRESTORED (stored away since 1926), but complete and original JN-4D Jenny in a Ohio barn. The owner wasn't interested in a $125,000 offer because he was looking at a $200,000 offer! UNRESTORED!!!!

Better start collecting these old relics, guys!

Well, at least I bought the Model Expo Jenny, and it is PERFECT in scale detail! Also, I picked up a fully-built 1/6 scale PROCTOR Jenny that IS MAGNIFICENT to behold. I'm glad I didn't spend half my life building it!

Sweet dreams!

Gary

Thanks Red, I will be sure to contact you. The rigging doesnt bother me as
i once rigged an HMS Victory warship in 1/72 scale. In fact, the more rigging the better as I find that that is one of the things i find most attractive(and challenging) about the old girl. Cheers! John.

Gary, I envy you about your affair with Jenny.Never did get to sleep under the wing of the old girl. What a wonderful find in Ohio! I sure hope somebody does her justice in her restoration. If my dad was still alive maybe I could have talked him into it.we restored a 1929 Beech Travelair D4D in the 60s to full CofA condition. It still exists and is flying at the Reynolds museum in Alberta. I donated it to the Canadian Govt after my dads passing. It must be worth a fortune today! Glad to hear that you are building the 1/16th Jenny. Before you start give me a shout as I have some tips for you.Would love to see your Proctor Jenny.Any chance of posting some pics to this forum? Cheers! John.

Here is the pic my 1/6 scale Proctor Jenny. I bought it already built. It is fully flyable, but I will NEVER allow it to be flown!

Regards to you Jenny lovers!

Hi All,
Almost finished with my 48th scale Lindberg Jenny. Working on all that rigging at this time. I wonder how much performance was lost due the overwhelming amount of wire drag on this design. Looking at the box, I see why they show no rigging. It would chase off potential buyers! I did add the Copper State Hisso engine as I'm doing a model of ORA's Hisso powered Jenny in it's present colors. It is part of my ongoing tribute to Cole Palen. I made a different radiator and cut in lower ailerons. I'll upload some pix after she's finished.
As for decals. Americal Gryphon has a sheet of 48th scale WW1 AEF roundels and stars. Be warned though that there are not too many same size duplicates on this sheet. Eagle Strike has a pre WW2 sheet of US insignia. I have also seen a sheet for Canadian Ships that I "think" are by Blue Rider.

Salute,
Steve

Steve,I am glad to hear that you are doing a Jenny.I will be really interested to see the pics when you are finished.I am at present constructing the lower wings of my 1/16th Jenny and I was wondering if you have any info on the run of the rigging for the lower aileron controls. Also worth noting.is that Coles airplane has double parallel inter-aileron struts instead of the usual V type arrangement. That seems to be unusual. .Do you have any info on this? Thanks. Cheers! John.

The only plane that even comes close to rivaling the Jenny is the Stearman.

I painted my Lindberg Jenny in my own colors....and the cats loved it.
