I am presently painting Eddie Rickenbackers uniform and I need a little help. What is the color of the buttons on the jacket? The U.S. and wings on the collar are they silver?.I have a pretty good idea that the wings on the chest is a kind off silver thread. Are the beltbuckles brass? Now for the biggie ,the row of ribbons on his chest any ideas on the sequence of colors?Any help, especially pics would be nice.Thanks. Cheers! John

Question before any attempt at the answer. What figure are you painting? What time period? The Medal of Honor was awarded years after the War. Is it the DML bust? I have a painting I could describe of Rick after receipt of the CMH. Let me know.

John,
I've got a picture of his uniform from the Udvar-Hazy Center. I'll scan it and post it tonight. It's not the best picture, but it may be of help.
Regards,

Thanks Rag111 ! Well the figure I am using is the one by Model Cellar. It seems that it is dressed in full uniform with all the ribbons which is fine with me as my diorama is set in the 20s after the war. Thanks again.Cheers! John.

John,
Well, here they are. The buttons looks to be the same color as the jacket. Look at the button above the belt buckle, especially. The buckle is brass, and the wings look like they're black or very dark green. There's a gold stripe on the cuffs of his jacket.
I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures, but my camera was especially good at picking up the reflections from the display case glass.

Is this Claude Rains or EvR?

I shocked, shocked, that you can't tell the difference. <_<
For one thing, Claude Rains, has eyes, ears, a nose, a mouth, etc.
