larg(er) scale Camel? 1/32 would be nice... what do you suggest?

I want something easy to build. I found an Acadamy for $18... is that one decent?

IMHO, The HC isn't bad, except for the "starving cow" wing ribs (and AM decals are practically non-existent); I personally like the Revell 1/28 better, but it's harder to find, and if it's a "sealed, original issue," you're going to have to shell out a "collector" price for it. Perhaps try Ebay? Regards, Rob

I must agree with Rob about the Camel wings. Rub down the rib detail and rescribe or use decal strip to represent rib tapes, then go to town on cockpit detail. Some wire push rods for the engine and you'll have a model to be proud of.

I'm just looking for one to learn more about the Camel from... "look and feel" so to speak. I seriously doubt I'll do the kind of detailing you folks do.

The kit will build fine straight from the box. Go for it.

It's not magic and it's not rocket science. You'll be surprised how much difference the addition of even just a little detail can make. If not now then a couple of projects down the line, give it a go. It will enhance your enjoyment of the hobby out of all proportion to the effort involved.

Hear, Hear, The Right Honorable Peter L!
"If ya ain't havin' fun, ya ain't doin' it right. If you want to "count rivets, " That's fine, but witness Herr Professor Lawson's build of the Revell-Germany D.VII in "Bauxtaupf" markings. Obviously, a man (of exceptional modeling talent and craftsman(uh, person)ship) havin' fun with a kit most "serious modelers wouldn't touch with an 10-foot pole (or an 8-foot czech) and that's supposed to be what it's all about. Personally, I LIKE the "lack of aftermarket" associated with the larger scale kits: more opportunity to "go where no modeler has gone before." If I can offer something to add to your 1/32 Camel build, just ask. Regards, Robs
