Uh Oh! I think I'd better get back to my lilac bush.

It's Lilac Time.

As the cover of darkness grows purple in the twilight The Leader of the Purple Aces detaches himself from the regeneration station and begins a solitary walk to his machine on the ready line. He has been given the task that will most likely bring an end to his existence. Hauptmann Albert von Ball approaches his new Fokker D.VII.

Performing a walkaround to inspect his machine, the zombie like figure takes in every stitch and rib of his flying coffin. Suddenly the moonlight pierces from behind a cloud and the ghoulish face of Haupt. von Ball is revealed. One could hardly take him for the boyish lout that had once been the loveable dark hair fresh faced skamp of the RFC.

Finally he walked to the cockpit and mounted his wood ribbed steed. This dark knight compelled to served the Vaterland was now on his most deadly mission.

Above Butcherbird 82 waits to form up. His strip camera records the beginning of the mission as the Purple Ace began his walk-around.

Greetings all I have had several newer members contact me and the question on their hungry minds is "...What is up with the Purple Ace Fokker?.." Another asks "...where do I find the info on it..." So here is the modeling thread of the ...factoid gathering that begat the build. The sad state of affairs has the thread closed otherwise I could have brought it forward. This will just have to do.

Thanks, Stephen, for clearing up all my questions about this thread. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with a strange fictional pilot flying around in my head. Seamus von Kranken-Schafft was never part of any Zombie plan, but his time spent in the bars and brothels of Tirana and Dubrovnik certainly made him feel that way. His orange and green Alb. DIII Oeffag was seen throughout the Balkans, and soon to be seen here...

Greetings JDCMasters; If you peruse the narrative threads at the top of the Off Topic title you will note that there are many of us here with far greater delusions ..uh er quirks.

Quirky bunch...

Thanks Stephen--this is true about Off Topic, but it seems dominated by politics and other rants (of which I am guilty of as well). All the attention to the facts seems to require a certain playfulness at times, i.e. to do away from factual things and entertain the absurd.

From the Model Factory on the hill,
