In the interests of not leading anyone astray
Please note:that the stirrups at the base of each cylinder should be horizontal to the top of the block and not at an angle as on my engine.I would under normal circumstances get out the old un-cure at this point and fix it but in this case when it is installed in the diorama it really won't be seen.
I have temporarily installed the fibre tube for the spark plug leads but I will not install the plugs or the wiring at this time. This would probably be one of the last things to be done on the engine during its re-build and I may show this being done in the diorama, with plugs and wiring on the workbench.(For further info please see Martin Wolf wonderful build of this engine at www.wwi-models.org)
Martin took a multi-media approach and used this resin kit as a base for a lot of scratchbuilding.
Next its on to the carb intakes and air box.

I received this addition to the parking lot today. It is a 1913 Mercer raceabout that I will convert into a barnstormers jalopy.I couldn't resist the price but the instructions are all in Chinese! No matter though ,when I am finished with it there will be very little Mercer to be recognized anyway. The engine and any left overs will look great in the junkyard.

I decided to install the spark plugs afterall ,as holes in the cylinders just doesn't look right.
Here I have temporarily pinned on the carb air box and one of the intake manifolds.I will leave the R/H one off ,so I drilled out the cylinder where the manifold meets.
I found something on the kits plans that I found confusing.Letter "N" indicates both the carb air intake port on the block and the carb air intake box at the carburetor.
Next its on to painting these parts.

Adding to the parking lot!
I have decide to upgrade the VIP's parade car from a Ford T to a RR 1907 Touring Car.A bit of bunting and a few flags should look good on this car.It is a 1/16th Minicraft kit.
Now I wish I could find an everymans car of the period other than a Ford product. There just is not that much to choose from in 1/16th.One good thing about the Model T though is that the variety of bodywork is endless as it seems that old Henry would sell you the basic car and you could build the truck or car body of your own design.
