Lightbulb

The pic of the truck hauling the empty plastic box is where I plan to put the truck/Camel model in the future. If I decide to add it ,probably next winter, this is about the volume of space that it will take up in the diorama.I will skip over this area for now and concentrate on the side ramp and gas pump.

So far it looks like the Reid's involvement in aviation will end there as none of the younger generation has taken an interest.I really can't blame them though,as there are so many other interesting things to do today ,and aviation is surely not what it used to be when it was new and exciting and it seemed anyone could be a pilot ,if they wanted it bad enough.Today there are so many rules and regs and restrictions that it is hard for the young ones to get near the airplanes or even the hangars anymore. In my day a lot of young pilots were born just hanging around the older guys and soaking up the atmosphere!

Its a shame that kids today don't get the same thrill from aviation as we did as kids. I lived under the main flight line from the north. So go to see al sorts of aircraft flying over as they headed to and out of Bankstown Airport.

The cost of learning to fly these days must be a real put off for the young person. When they can buy a hotted up car for the same amount as it costs to learn to fly.

Makes you wonder what will happen to our hobby in 50 years time?
