Opinions please!

I like the idea of hanging it as a model from the ceiling ; the office is the most likely place where it would be found (if there's room for it) right above someone's desk but high enough that they wouldn't be walking into it all the time. If not there, maybe above someone's workbench. The display case idea seems a little too much & out-of-place for the rest of your story, but hanging it preserves your idea of a diorama-within-a-diorama nicely.

Hi Patrick! If I hang it from the ceiling this would open up other possibilities for a different aircraft. He has a lot of WW1 aircraft in 1/160 scale with a wingspan over 41 mm .I haven't ordered the kit yet until I make the showcase/no showcase decision. Thanks for your input! Cheers! John.

This is my parts catcher,an old elastic edged mattress cover turned upside down.It really works well and has saved my sanity on many an occasion.

Sealing metal with laquer.
This is my method of sealing metal parts with 50/50 laquer /laquer thinner.I simply dunk the parts in using tweezers ,place them on a paper towel to remove the excess by rolling them around a bit or turning them over and over and then picking them back up with the tweezers again and blowing off any excess that remains .I then let them dry on the cardboard so that they don't pickup any paper fibers.

I found one of my old log books today from the early 60's when I was a flying instructor, and inside it I found this old bit of advertising .I thought you guys may get a kick out of the "all new metal " aircraft and the prices of $2,300 bucks for a commercial license and $461 for a private in the "new" Cessna 150 and 172 aircraft. Those were the days my friend!
