Peace and Love everyone!
Back in the 60's this was my dad's first attempt at skywriting. He was flying our recently restored '29 Beech Travelair biplane. You can just see the airplane on the right hand middle of the pic.If you follow the smoke trail back you can just make out the" l "and "o "of the word love. These were the 60's of course and he was attempting to write "Peace and Love" in the skies over the city of Montreal.

Tail skid
The metal fitting is actually not too bad ,so I may just replace the parts that should be wood.It will be the point of contact between the truck and the aircraft so it will draw a little more attention than it would otherwise.

Wooden tail skid.
The only visible part will be the area below the bottom longeron ,so I didn't bother finishing the rest off, which is over scale anyway. The important part was to get the angle of what I thought would be the skid under minimum weight.
The skid is made from a piece of cherry wood ,the fitting was retained from the original part and metal tip is a piece of metal tape glued on.
