Well that it the best I could do with a bad design other than scratchbuild it.I sure as hell wouldn't want to stake my life on that wing root arrangement or even taxi around on that gear for that matter!

I feel like building wings!
While I still have odds and ends to finish on the fuselage and U/C, I am getting a little bored with this now so I think it is time to start the wings and do a little woodworking for a change.

Where the rear U/C leg meets the fuselage the vertical strut is about twice this thickness on the real airplane.The fuselage cross brace wires at the engine and cockpit have yet to be put on this side.

The above pic is of Ken Foran's center section as it should be done.The center section struts are as they come in the kit.I will be making mine in wood and use the end fittings only.Right now I am planning to put the center section structure on the fuselage.
I know that there is a sort of lack of continuity here as some areas seem over protected and others not at all.I have had to compromise here in order to tell the story but still leave enough of the airplane structure open to be interesting.Actually in real life the whole thing would be shipped in a crate! Lets just say that the airplane will be crated in Toronto prior to shipment via the CNR to California. Picture of center section courtesy of Ken Foran.
