I just noticed that the rusty nails are missing on this wall and I think that the wall should be a little more weathered near ground level.
Taking pics are great for concentrating the eye when doing detail.

After tearing down the fence ,I had a little extra wood for the woodpile that I added to the coal chute and wood storage area. Now for a little vegetation.

Coal chute
John,
From experience, the area around the coal chute would be covered with fine coal and coal powder, maybe several pieces of coal, but for the most part just the fine stuff that spills out the back of the truck or Wheelbarrow. As the coal was shoveled into the chute, often a flying piece would hit the wall, or sometimes a whole shovel full would miss the chute altogether so one would expect to see the area around and below the chute to be dark in color.
Love your work,
Fee2b

Thanks Michael for the info.Yeah I figure that the chute would have to make a 90 deg turn in this area with the resulting spillage on the ground.I will add the dust as you suggest using black pastel.
