Experimenting with burnt fabric!Because of magnification the weave looks large but is actually quite fine.I painted the white cotton with acrylic unbleached titanium, which is close to a antique fabric color. The burns were created with a small wood burner(a lighted cigarette would do just as well).

When burning the acrylic painted fabric be sure to ventilate to the outside as it can be quite toxic.
This is not hard to do,just take some fabric and using carpenters yellow glue lay on a thin film of glue and apply to the leading edge.Let dry awhile and then burn back the fabric to where it meets the wood.
