Sound,glorious sound!

I just received a flier in todays newspaper advertising the worlds smallest MP3 player with 1GB of memory. But what is really cool is that they are now making Amplified speakers for max power and clear sound courtesy of micro drivers.MaxxBass technology creates deep bass without a subwoofer.
They are expensive right now but I am sure that Walmart will take care of that in a year or two.
Now I need ideas for sound tracks. The Blue Max of course, the Aviator,Memphis Belle, flight sims for engine sounds.Air race sound tracks.Does anyone have any ideas or good recordings of old radials, air show sounds of the 20-30s etc...?
How could I rig it up so that anyone passing by the diorama will not forget the experience ? Guys you got to help me out on this one.As you know by now I am no computer genius but with a little help I think that I can pull this one off.
Cheers! John.

Question Wheres my creativity gone?

I am having a hard time getting back on track these days after a bout with the flu and my doc changing my diabetes meds.I havent done much on the Jenny in about 6weeks waiting for my ambition to return again.I have had these dry spells before but never for soo long. The hangar stills sits on the dining room table so it is never far out of mind
What do you guys do to motivate yourself into action? This time it seems to be more than a mid-project slump. John.

Proves you are just human like the rest of us John .. I too suffer from "feast or famine" moods and Im sure we all do. I find the best thing is to leave it for a while then start on a new part of the project when the urge returns .. you will soon get back into the swing of things. If you force yourself to do it .. then it becomes a chore and not a labour of love .. good luck.. look forward to some pictures ...

I build much smaller projects than you do . . . . . .

I sometimes hit a slump when I feel something isn't coming out quite as well as I think it should or could, and also when I'm in the middle of something but already planning out the next one. I try to prevent myself from getting in a mindset of "having" to finish something because that's when I start to rush it and make compromises that ultimately I regret. If I get to a point where I'm more excited about what I'm going to build next than what I'm building now, there's a problem. It usually helps to go back to whatever inspired me to choose that project in the first place, the photograph or drawing or whatever, and recapture the "magic." Then, I STOP looking at and researching the next one.

Of course, there are plenty of projects that have ended up in the dustbin after a week or two when I just wasn't into them. I'm not suggesting it, but it is liberating.

JohnReid; We have much in common. I have type two diabetes. The motivation aspect is tough to deal with at times. I try to make each build have a unique aspect of some sort. As our moderator Mr. EricGoedkoop has mentioned to go back to the inspiration that started the project. In most cases giving a project that something extra is just the ticket for a single build project.

With large format dioramas its a bit different. Just my opionion of course. It may help to specifically take a day just for yourself. Enjoy the day for itself. In a sense to flush the system of "I have to..." Recovering from the same sinusitus (six weeks) and my diabetes has drained me at times. In that time I opened a website, finished 3 contract builds and am trying to finish an off topic fourth for the beneifit of the WWI Modelers Page. Their sponsor at the Univer. of New Hampshire wanted a WWII LST in his father's markings. I am finishing it for him but it is not something I enjoy. Pressing through, is more than just going through the mechanics in trying to meet the needs of the build. And in this case, it must be done. Though I'm not highly active there it is important to help when you can.

My only saving grace is that I have been on vacation for the past 16 days so I have been able to take that day off from modeling in multiples. One great source for me is the Lafayette Foundation. If I ever hit "modeler's block" I take a trip to Platte Valley airfield and rummage through some photos and documents or help tinker with a full sized replica. I realize many of us don't have that luxury but it can make all the difference. Every Saturday its guaranteed someone will be there. Part of the time is spent drinking coffee and swapping knowledge. We have some great mechanics and pilots. 44 fully uniformed manequins, replica aircraft and 14 file cabinets full of documents and photos. Its well worth the trip if you decide on one.

Cool

Thanks guys for your encouragement.I think that taking some new pics will help get me started up again.
Part of the problem is that I feel that I am stuck in the hangar scene thing and am not breaking any new ground. In other words I am going a little stale and boredom has set in.
When I started this thread I promised myself that I would share with you guys the good and the bad of such a long project.Well this is some of the bad aspects of such an undertaking.Keeping yourself motivated to finish.
I usually always go through this about mid-project just before I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. No one said that it was going to be easy!
Cheers! John.
