Hi guys! well that is it for now.Unfotunately most of these pics are overexposed. In the next couple of days I will try to take some better ones and cut down on the lighting.I have the office wired for lighting the over head and table lamps so maybe I will give that a try.None of these pics represent in any way the finished product. Most of the modules require more weathering and the placing of figures etc....Mr.Dillon ,the office manager will eventually be standing beside Harley looking out through the door into the activity going on in the hanger.
For those who may be interested the blue and white sign that is next to the stove says "Chewers and smokers will please spit on each other and not on the stove or floor".
Chester, the black cat,can barely be seen curled up on top of the blue box .under the bench ,in the workshop.
Cheers! John.

Good God!!
More great pics, John. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. Forgive me if you've already addressed this, but whence came the Model T? I know Minicraft have done some 1/16 cars ( I've got a '31 Model A delux roadster in the stash somewhere). Is this one of thiers? By the by, a nice UPS man dropped off a shiney new Albatros D.Va kit at my house tonight. I'll have to clear the work bench (and some surrounding real estate!) before I dive in. First impressions are good, with the quality of the castings (which had me concerned) in particular standing out. They are well formed with virtually no flash, slag, etc. The only weak point appears to be the turnbuckles. Perhaps the relativly delicate nature of these parts just doesn't lend itself well to this medium. I may have to give Ken Foran's versions a go. I'm not sure how recent a change this is to the kit, but the valve springs are now cast as part of the rocker covers. while I'm sure this simplifies the build, I have to say that the seperate springs would look much better and I will be making my own. I may be getting my hands on a digital camera this weekend and, assuming I can learn how to use it, I would like to start a thread here on the forum to show the kits contents, plans, etc. I've always appreciated those who take the time to do this and would like to return the favor.
Anyways, enough of my ramblings.
Carry on, Sir!
Pat

Albatros
That is great news Pat! It is nice to know that some of the manufacturers actually listen to their customers constructive criticism. Before I would recommend this kit to everyone though I will really be interested in following your new thread on this build. If they have improved their castings to the standard of the Jenny that would be great. How do the "N" struts at the center section look, where they join to the fuselage at the upper longeron? Are they still way overscale?
I agree with you about the springs looking better but obviosly they were getting complaints about the difficulty in placing them in position.Actually I liked the old method better too but I guess that you can make your own.
I am looking forward to your pics and following your new thread.
If they really have brought this kit up to a good standard it deserves to have a good , in depth, online build.
Cheers! John.

Model A Ford
Oh,I forgot to answer your car question. That car is actually a 1/16th diecast that I was lucky to pick up for 1/2 price because it was missing a front rubber tire.It is from the Franklin Mint and is a real Duesey,as they used to say.Keep your eyes open for damaged diecasts as they are perfect for our purposes and they have difficulty selling them to collectors who naturally want their stuff perfect. Its not often you find 1/16th,most are 1/18th scale but still can be used in dioramas where a little forced perspective is in order.
Cheers! John.

Hi! Todays pics are taken from the same roll of overexposed pics that I took the other day.I hope to get around to taking some new ,better ones today.
First pic from the top
thats Mr. John Dillon ,the unpainted, armless office manager, giving you an idea of scale.
next, the office, note calendar on the wall is set for Nov 11
Pics 3&4.The woodworkers workshop(engine shop to come later)and view into office beyond.
Harley loves to get his picture taken!
Last pic I thought I would include for the stovepipe and roof assembly.Yes,I left a frying pan to cook up a few eggs and coffee on those cold Canadian mornings.
