Sorry, but I missed your question at my first reading.

I never used Testors spray enamel, but I used regurlarly (before I use only acrylics) Testors enamel in small jar. It worked as many other brands, like Humbrol, Revell, Xtracolor, ...

Another tip is to degrease white metal part (after its polishing) with a good solvent like cellulosic thinner. Beware, if you use this sort of thing, work only in a well ventilated area.
