Sopwith Seaplanes: Schneider & Baby

Can I change the Special Hobby Sopwith Schneider to a Sopwith Baby with just an engine & cowling change? Also, does the Schneider, Tabloid & Baby all share the same "wheel-type" control vs. a joystick?
Thanks

I believe you'll need to change the fin as well. The Schneider and Tabloid both had a triangular fin, while the Baby's was rather "humped."

Early in it beginnings of kit manufacture Eduard put out both a 1/72 & 1/48 kit of the Schneider (1/48 = #8009.) The main difference between the Tabloid(Schneider cup races) and the RNAS version were; The cowling rudder / fin and ailerons instead of wing warping. The Schneider did employ a control wheel but there were three versions of the Schneider. These were the Sopwith, Blackburn and the Ansaldo. The first two used Clerget rotaries and the Ansaldo used LeRhône types. Images courtesy of Rosebud's site
