Cool Sloppy Jalopy 1/48 Trucks and models

Hi all

Apologies for the unsolicited mention of our own products, but I know the subject has been brought up on these boards before, just can't find the thread now in order to reply.

Previous thread was regarding the applicability of our kits as background or diorama pieces for use with WW1 aircraft. The bad new is that currently our Ford AA models are all circa 1930, so don't go backwards too well. We also have some 1925ish Crossley 19.6 cars, again rather too late, though they might look the part.

The good news is that we are currently mastering four variants of the Thornycroft J-type truck, two of which will be 1916 vintage, and WERE extensively used during the Great War. Part of our research was to visit an extant AA version at the Imperial War Museum site at Duxford. Whilst our designer declined to do the AA gun we should have a flatbed and pickup version with canvas tilt available early in the New Year.

Having finished that the same designer is currently starting on an Austin Armoured Car of 1917 vintage, with variants for the Russion Austin-Putilov and Austin-Kegresse armoured cars. These would also suit your needs.

It is possible that later in the year we will also do Ford Model T, military and civilian versions, again of Great War period, all in 1/48th scale.

Hope this is of interest

Laurence

Thumbs up

We've got a couple of Sloppy Jalopy's that we use in our Spanish Civil War wargames, they are very nice models.

No plans to do anything in 1/76th as we had assumed the market for that was already well served.

As for German vehicles, we might well do a truck or some other military style vehicles. Did you have any preference (and ideally access to some good pictures and more importantly scale plans....) Not sure of time scales though, and we've learnt not to make promises so as not to disappoint people

Cheers

Laurence
