I hope to build at least one of dozens of Eduard Albatross D.II's, D.III's, D.V/Va's (both 1/72 and 1/48), Nieuports 11 to 17, DML and Roden 1/48 Fokker D.VII's, DML Fokker Dr.1's, D.VIII's and SPAD XIII's. Wish me luck (I need all I can get).
Crap, now I GOTTA get me some of the new upcoming Eduard kits to go along with what I've already stockpiled!!!!

Well for me its going to be more scratchbuilding and casting. The projects I have lined up at the moment are:

Bregeut 14
Salmson 2A2
LVG C.V
AW FK.8
All will be in 1/144 scale and destined for the gaming table.Once I have produced the 'masters' I make moulds of all the components and produce multiple castings. I may well have a go at producing Caudron G3's as well.Thats only if the medication wears off

<sigh> 2004 was a bad year for me, personally. Only finished two models, both non-WW1 types (but still biplanes).

This year I hope to do what I've said every year - finish those up already started. This includes, all 1/72nd, of course (what, other scales exist?):

Flashback Sopwith 1.B1 Strutter (stalled because of the corrections)
Omega Morane-Saulnier Type AC (stalled because of the "enhancements")
Eduard SPAD XIII (stalled because of malaise)
Eduard Albatros D.V (stalled because of lack of motivation)
Eduard Fokker F.I w/Rosemont correction set (stalled because I am burned out on Fokker Triplanes)
Toko Hansa-Brandenburg D.I "out of the box" (see Albatros D.V)
Toko Hansa-Brandenburg D.I w/Rosemont 65.7 Series conversion (see previous HB)

Once those are finished <groan> then I would like to build one of the Modelkrak armored cars I haven't yet, as well as a Choroszy Nieuport V-strutter type.

Nah, Greg not really...well there is that baker's dozen of elves that got shipped to me from the back room of that Belgian Hobby shop when I purchased the five Dragon / Italeri 1/48 Fokker D.VII with the 1/12 Udet bust kits for 25.00USD @. They where snoozin in the boxes when they got shrink wrapped. Then there is my evil twin Igor ...but not really a staff.

Belgian Elves with optivisors, no doubt.

Aren't the Dragon busts fantastic. I have them too, just too afraid to mess them up. Figure painting is so different. I ain't got the skills yet. Good thing they aren't going anywhere. I have a complete collection of the Dragon series Knights of the Sky unbuilt. Don't tell Philippe JOURDAN though. I took a look and it's well over 40 kits up in the closet.

Model Airways Kits

My advise is to do the Jenny first, mainly because the fittings, plans and instruction booklet are better. They also make a nice Wright Flyer in 1/16th,also with the improved castings..I have the kit and the instruction booklet and it looks OK, as well as the general quality of the wood and laser cut parts.Only when you have more experience ,would I recommend the other two.Just my 2 cents.Cheers! John.

I'm just hoping Roden bring out one or more of the 1/72 Camels they have planned.

Would really like to build one of those this year. Fingers crossed!

Post Some others...

I was down at the local store (War and Pieces in W Hartford) and they had 2 kits that caught my eye--a Deperdussin and a Martin-Handasyde, both 1/48 and both 1911, from PYRO, and both still in the shrinkwrap. I snagged them quick. I haven't looked closely at them, but they look like fun. I'm also looking forward to the Roden Camels, but also the Eduard HD-1 that is supposedly coming out soon. Remember to land into the wind!
