Modeling plans for 2005

Hi,

Just being curious, what everybody's plans are for this year. Mine from last year didn't work out yet, still constructing the Jabbeke aerodrome (and for some time that will need much attention), a Mark V tank on 1:35, a Junkers DI, a Felixstowe seaplane on 1:72 and a A7V tank on 1:35.
And on my have to have list is the Zeppelin Staaken RVI from Roden.

Best from Johan

Russian Nieuports with hilarious devils and bare naked ladies on them! That's for sure! Maybe some Italian Hanriots. And of course something completely impulsive...

I'll make at least one promise for the new year: I will buy more new kits than I could possibly build! I like to make promises I can keep!

Yours

Mikko

I started cutting ribs for a peanut scale free flight Morane Saulnier AI last night.

After that: a US Mail DH-4, a Loening M-8, an Albatros B II. If the FF Cookup Group does the Nieuport party they're talking about, I'll probably do a IV. Or a 14.

The stuff I already bought- Cheap SMER and similar kits: Finish the Nieuport 17 (in Russian colors- 19th squadron) Spad 13, Ansaldo SVA 5, Fokker DVII, a couple of mandatory Albatros DIII's, (I'm thinking about attempting to scratch-build wings and do a DI from one of them!) Jenny that I still haven't built, and rebuild my EIII.

Maybe an Albatros BII or CI if I can find one, or a Rumpler. Also would like to do a DH2, a Fokker DII, and a Halberstadt DII. I'd LOVE to do a Fokker DI, but I think it would have to involve a LOT of scratch-building, and my skills just aren't there yet. Maybe a Morane in Russian colors... A Pfalz monoplane of some sort. Ok, that's probably about 3 years worth of stuff for me at the rate I do anything... hehehe

Greenknight's Hangar

I've resumed work on my 1/4 scale Fokker D.VIII, from the Glenn Torrance "Low-Cost" kit version. I bought a couple of add-ons that Glenn offers, and am currently building the Fokker Seat Mini-Kit for it. This Mini-Kit is a fun little project:

http://www.gtmodels.com/web/pages/NEW-PRODUCTS.htm

Like Eric G., I plan to join the Nieuport build with the FFCookup Yahoo group this spring if it is a go. I've had a fascination with Nieuport V-Strutters for the last few months, bolstered by rereading Alexander Riaboff's memoir "Gatchina Days" over the Christmas Holidays.

A belated Happy New Year All!

Post Work, work, flugelwerks

I've just started a PhonixC1 from Modelbud (very nice), my first resin kit. I also have numerous others planned- Aviatik Berg 1/72 from EE, some Roden Alb. D3 kits, but I'm excited about working more of my Russian Civil War Bluerider decals into my life. Plenty of Snipes, SE-5's, Spads, and others. I also picked up the BlueRider decal series for the 'Tintin' books. I grew up with those books and Herge's aircraft drawings were always fun, especially the Bordurian Messerschmidt and the middleeastern Mosquitos. All for now, lads, I'm off....

Stephenlawson,
With that list of yours I can't help to wonder if you have a small staff helping you.

For 2005,
I would like to add a minimum of 6 complete builds to my site, The Fokker Factory. I’m a very slow modeler and I hate that. I just can’t push myself too hard on a kit or cut corners. It needs to be done a certain way or I don’t want to do it at all. I am so sloooooowwww! I drive myself crazy. I can zone on one piece an widdle and sand it for ever. Maybe I'll get a timer and limit myself?

So after I finish my Albatros DV that I started in Nov 04, I want to the Hanriot D2/ w floats. After that, the new 1/48 DH –2!!!!

Models, models, models again

Hi all,

Actually, I build an old Revell Nieuport 17. Plenty of fun with this model : I've to redo most of the details and to correct a lot of mistakes. Wings, tailplane, rudder and ailerons are corrected, reshaped and ready for the paint shop. Most cockpit details are finished. I hope to finish the whole thing for the end of this month or most probably in February.

After that, I've a lot of models to build this year :

Toko Aviatik Berg D.I, Hansa brandenbourg D.I, Nieuport XI and Pfalz D.XII;
Airfix Roland D.II, Hannover Cl.III or IIIa, Avro 504 and D.H.4.
I've too to scratchbuild two models for the MRA : a Cesar Bataille 1913 and a Train.

I've to finish 4 vehicles : a Schneider Ca 1entirely scratchbuild, an Ehmar A7V, a Ford T ambulance and a Tank Mk.II (conversion of the venerable Airfix Mk I).

If I've sufficient time, one (or more) of my 600 unbuilt kits or maybe the new Roden Zeppelin Stakken R.VI.

Best regards from my little country

Philippe
