The Windsock Datafile on the Roland D.II also covers the D.I, D.IIa, D.III, and W.4. For the kit bashers, a D.I can be made from the Hi-Tech kit without too much hacking. So can the D.III, but it was not produced in quantity and saw no service.

Don't you hate that!!

That Engine is a little beaut! - what a pity to hide it all under that cowl!!!
And I have always wondered - how do people assemble something like this and then paint it?

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome! To answer your specific questions:

Rendsburg - The dimensions of the model is approx 19cm wingspan and 15cm length.

Jumpinjan - I picked this one up at my local hobby shop for around $30 Australian (which is around $23USD). As for distributors of Hi-Tech stuff, I am not too sure unfortunately - I occasionally see this kit on ebay fairly cheaply. Thanks also for the colour info, looking at the colour chips you provided my colours were roughly in the ball park but not spot on, I will use this info in the future

Neil_E - Thanks for the good comments, my connection with 10SQN RAAF is an extant one - I am an Aeronautical Engineer currently posted to the maintenance element of the SQN.

Cheers,
BC
