Aeroclub Short 184
A friend just called to wax enthusiastic about Aeroclub's new Umpah Lumpah scale 184 which he got at the Doncaster show earlier today. He's not easy to please but he likes this one. I'm promised digital pics later this evening. If they show up I'll post them here

Hey Peter,
Any chance that they will enlarge this kit to 1/48 scale? I would love one but not in Umpah lumpah scale (sorry Matt!)

Thank you PeterL (aka Nobby). ordered mine yesterday.
From the pics you put up, looks like you can model this with the wings folded. Would make a great dio of it on a ships deck with the crew unfolding the wings.

I have had the kit in my hot sweaty little hand this evening. I don't think you will be disappointed Warren. My guess is that whoever mastered the BE and the Biff in the manly scale was also responsible for this. The look is very similar. Wings and tail are nice and thin, trailing edges sharp and crisp. The decal sheet I saw had good register. I thought the blue a little dark but I wouldn't go to war over it.
It's not my scale but I'm enough of a tightwad to find eighteen quid for a 1:72 bipe a bit rich. Dedicated munchkin scalers will see it differently and it is a fine looking kit.

Peter,
The price is a bit rich for my blood as well, but it IS the only game in town though.

I got the kit in the mail today.
I got the kit in the mail today.
It is outstanding. I love Aeroclub kits and this would be one of these best.
The plastic moulding is very well done. Some of the white metal parts have flash on them. No great drama there at all.
The wing ribbing is really nice. Nice scale rib tapes. I love Aeroclub’s struts as they are white metal and strong.
Best set of instructions I have seen from Aeroclub so far. This time they have some pics on how and where the parts fit together. The decals are beautiful.
The radiator is a giant white metal item that is very nice. Nice surface detail on it too. Would have been hard for the pilot to see past it.
Buy it! That way John at Aeroclub might be able to fund doing some more WWI stuff.

Ditto what Ross said
I just got mine in the mail. A number of optional parts to make different versions. Beautifully moulded. Does anyone know what colour the torpedo (not included) should be?
Cheers
