Decal Prob

I am havin trouble. I have finished my J. Jacobs all black Dr.1. Sadly I hade to hand paint the crosses onto the plane as I had another decal issue.

How does one prevent decals from folding up as soon as you lift them from water, mine folded up everytime and I could not get them undone. Anyone have a strict procedure as to doing this without screwing them up??

Thanks

S!~

Decals prob : a solution

Hello Feared in combat,

I rarely encountered this problem. Don't lay the decal too much time in the water. Usually, I put my decals in the water for no more than 30 to 45 seconds.

As far as they slip on the backing paper, I pick it up from the water, holding it on the backing paper and put the decal on the models using a wet Q-tip. Before this, I put a droplet of Microset on the model. This product provide you a better adherence of the decal (after its drying) and a little time to move the decal in the right place.

Hope this will be of little help.

Best regards from Belgium.

Philippe

I concur with Phillipe keep the backing with the decal until your ready to slide it off ther paper directly onto the model. A little saliva on the model surface helps keep the decal from locking down before your ready.
