They will! I'm more and more convinced that 1/32 is the future thing in ww1 aeroplane modeling! Even this small survey shows it!

Although my preference is 1/48th I do like 1/32nd because I can see to add more details etc! I even have a few 1/72nd and 1/144th kits in the stash!!

Tom- Gone for 5 days fly-fishing in Montana (have to have multiple expensive hobbies) so sorry for the delay. If you are willing to try, send me an e-mail at tphillips@schaferalb.com and I will send you the two models. We can talk about price later. Love those tiny guys, just have no capability to do that anymore. Still have several of my balsa solids from 40+ years ago.

I understand - I was painting the 6mm Medieval when my eyesight caught up with me and stopped me for a while - got bifocals and pretty much back to normal now. PM on the way.

My CURRENT favorite is 7/8 scale. That one is big enough to work on without issues. And, I get to fly in it when I am done. There will of course be some items that aren't exactly scale, but "close enough for me."

1/72 is to hard to detail,so I stick with 1/32 or larger.

I'm not picking on you, TR, but I've heard this a lot -- to the point that it's become a maxim. But I'm not sure that's truly the case.

Granted, larger parts are easier to work with than smaller ones, but I think it's much harder to detail some of the older 1/48 scale kits than the newer 1/72 scale kits. The level of detail in the older kits does not compare well to newer kits at any scale.

Regards,

The Circle of Life..

I prefer 1/72 now, which is the scale I started modeling in the 60's. In the 70's and 80's I moved to 1/48th since there really wasn't much WWI stuff in any scale and scatchbuilding/conversion was much easier in the larger scale and I got the Harry Woodman book. I dabbled in 1/32 in the early 90's simply because I will buy about any decent WWI kit that comes out. Now, with the nice selection of figures and increasingly more vehicles/armor coming out in 1/72, plus the Roden & Eduard lines of aircraft, that has become my preferrred scale once more.
