My preferred model scale is 1/48, but I buy mostly 1/72 for now as gaming models. The kits I collected for years (but ended up never building while moving all the time in the Army) were 1/48. Really got my eyes on that Eduard Brisfit for Christmas.....

Ross- My actual favorite is 1/15 or 1/16 (Museum Scale), but not on your list. Take up a lot of room, though, and cost a fortune.

I voted 1/48 as that is the scale I prefer for WWI subjects. If I am doing another period I'll go 1/72 to save space etc. But for WWI I like the larger scale because it's easier to get the detail that period deserves.
I also got into 1/48 for WWI because before Roden came along and Eduard became active in 1/72, I think there were very few decent kit's in that scale (I try hard, but I'm not a very good modeler so I need something that doesn't need major surgery). Meanwhile, Eduard had several good offerings in 1/48, and the DML kits were nice I thought.

I'm with Taz about big scale ... but like him I have no room for all the obsessions. And Pablo is spot on about selection ... when you love the plane, any scale is good, but not if they don't make it in that scale. I have D-IIIs in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/24, some good, some not so good. The little Roden kits are quite nice, as is the Eduard,, but Tom's Modelworks version was rough, Glencoe was a retread of Aurora and both suffer the innaccurcies of the Wylam plans, while the Marco Polo kit was nice and big but needed lots of love to come up to standard.
So what do I want? A 1/24th Scale Pfalz D-IIIa from Revell/Monogram. Give it up guys ... I'm waiting ............

I like 1/48th scale models. That's for aircraft. For car models it's either 1/25th or 1/18 for more operating features. Yup, we oldies prefer the larger scale models.

Favorite scale?
In terms of decal stash, I guess 1/48, but in terms of shelf space it would have to be 1/72.
