Polish insignia

I did not notice this until applying the decals -- the red and white fields in the wing insignia switch between top and bottom wings. Look at

Polish D.VII with streaked camouflage?

and click on

Oops .. cross posted with the cammo thread

Struttin my stuff

Somehow I managed to avoid building DML's D.VII until now, and I'm fairly impressed with the kit so far, but ...

someone tell me true ...

Do those stainless steel etched outboard N-struts actually fit in place? Early jiggering doesn't look promising. Is there heartbreak ahead?

Greetings Sir, In truth you will need to drill out the sockets in the wing a bit. They are marginally too long, check your references. BUT i would rather have the PE struts than any plastic ones... My latest endeavor with the other Eduard fuselage has me uniting it it with some spare resin wings. I am using brass STRUTZ from Aeroclub. If you decide not to use them think of me for a possible trade.

Here is a bit of a warning to any and all who use plain steel or pot metal for uniting resin pieces DON"T DO IT!!!! These items will react with some resins and produce rust. Most resins don't cure more that 95%. Brass won't

strutz

I had noticed that the top front leg of the N-struts doesn't align with the cabenes on the main spar. Maybe some judicious bending ... I'll wait until the moment of truth comes and the model is attached to the cabenes, which are incredibly fragile. They should have used PE there too.

Hey buzz1941; I moved the D.VII shot to my "Rumaging through some old files" thread. Also. I just spent some time doing six DML / Dragon fuselages for this diorama I'm planning. There will be some tore up Jager fuselages too. It will be an "end of the war" scene at an American or British collection Park. I'll have an arsinist Ginger figure flicking a lighter trying to start the great bonfire of 1918!

exhausting

Hey, before I hit the road I cleaned up some Roden exhausts thinking to replace the undersized DML exhausts, but they were WAY too big. Any thoughts?

buzz1941; Master one from an old Eduard Albatros D.V / V.a then then resin pour an many as you need. Eduard ...burrowed the DML inline six design and split the whole unit vertically. The DML ports should match the Eduard trumpet dead on.
