1/48 Head hunting.
This has been asked before but I'll try again. At one time, Coree of Korea produced a set of 1/48 scale resin cast replacement heads. These were of nice detail and variety (10 heads to the set) and I liked to use these to build or upgrade certain figures used in my dioramas. They are no longer available through "Squadron". Does anyone know if they are still being produced and if so, the name of a supplier? If not, does anyone know of any producer making 1/48 scale resin heads?

Head Office
Now that they're pumping out 1/48 armor like crazy, heads can't be far behind.

Sorry don't know about the Coree set.
None of the above but Tamiya started early this year with a new line of 1/48 armor. Skybow too has done a very good Tiger tank and will do more.
To add to that Trumpeter announced Sherman kits in 1/48 and Bandai contemplates a rerelease of some their seventies range.
I am just in the finishing stage of sculpting a standing pilot in 48th . Maybe if there is commercial interest (ie someone wants to cast my masters) I could do a set of heads in the future.

Go to your local hobby shop and look at the armor shelf. Tamiya, Skybow, Academy, Gas-o-Line and Trumpeter all are doing kits. Tamiya even is doing military cars!
Here's a new figure set:

You assume too much. That would make too much sense.
Unfortunately in Sacramento CA USA, the three shops even willing to carry plastic kits do not care for this scale. A couple of years ago, I poured over the internet looking high and low for figures to go with my 1/48 WW I kits, only to find a resin figure here and there. I now have the Eduard German 1/48 figures, and they are good.
Thank you for the new hope, I will check out the manufacturers you listed again.

Hobby Shops
Take the long drive to Oakland and hit up that hobby shop in the basement of the hardware store just outside the Berkely campus. It's very good.

Berkeley
I forget the name of the place but it's in the local Yellow Pages under "hobby shops" or "hobby construction supplies" or something.
Seriously, it's the basement of a hardware store. It's about a block or two short of the campus on the main drag going in. On the left. Walk in the front door and directly down the stairs.
The guys who run it are clearly enthusiasts. Kits of everything stacked everywhere. They also sell old models at reasonable prices. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves -- they have their own sense of organization. Basically by manufacturer. Look behind and under and over the shelves or you might miss something.
I actually prefer this place to San Antonio Hobbies down in Silicon Land.
I forget what they had WWI-wise. Last time I was there I was on a Polish fighter jag and scooped up a bunch of PZLs. That ought to give you a clue how obscure the kits they have can be.
Oops, here it is, right off a Google search:
Berkeley Ace Hardware
(510) 845-0410
2145 University Ave
Berkeley, CA 94704
And just around the corner are Berkeley's wonderful used-book shops.
OK, we're expecting you to go soon and give us a full report.
Leave me some Eduard D.VIIs -- I'll be back in October.
