Question Turning Future/Klear matt

Greetings All

I thought I would try turning Future/Klear acrylic clear gloss into a matt finish by adding some matt acrylic matt base from Tamiya. Has anyone else tried this? Are they compatible? Any thoughts as to ratio for mixing?

Future/Klear hand brushes so well I thought, if adding matt base works, it will give a better finish than some other matt coats like Humbrol which leave streaks if hand brushed.

Hi James,
It works pretty well. I also add a little Model Master acrylic thinner to the mix to allow it to flow better since the Tamiya matte is pretty thick. Mixing ratio takes a little practice, too much matte and it will dry with a whiteish powder in the recesses. You can add more future for a semi gloss finish as well.
A good starting point is about 20% matte base, 20% thinner and 60% future. This is my ratio for air brushing, I have not tried to brush it.
