What's on your 72nd scale "Wishlist"?
After being outbid in the last 5 seconds for a Revell Sopwith Triplane on Ebay, I will have to say that it's time for our eastern block friends to extrude a nice, crisp example for our collective building pleasure. What would you like to see on the shelves for Christmas?
From the Factory on the hill,
very bitter,
John

1/72 scale German 2-seaters! I've had the same problem with the Rolands and Hanovers. A nice Halberstadt C-II would be at the top of my list to Santa this year. Right now trying to get a vac kit for it. I did get lucky with the Tripe, though. Watch for "bagged builder kits" - I got one without the box but otherwise in perfect order for under $5 shipped. I have had a few bad ones, too, so watch the details and even the pictures. I have two Handley Page 0/400s that were bagged together, all stripped from the sprue, and one partially started. I do believe I can get one good one from them, and maybe both, but not 100% sure. But, the price was right, and I will have spare landing gear, struts, etc in case I need them.

John, if you don't mind me asking how much did the Tripe go for? I've been after a couple for wargaming with for ages.

I'd love to see a Sopwith Tripe in 1/72 as well! And I'd like to see some lesser-known subjects in styrene such as a Thomas-Morse MB-3, a Standard EM-1, and a Le Pere-LUSAC 11. Ok I know those have next to no chance of ever being injection-molded in 1/72 but a fellow can dream, can't he?

I'd buy a whole squadron of the Nieuport 17bis in injection molded. Now that we have Eduard & Roden quality kits, I'd also like a Sopwith Pup and Albatros CV. Lastly, Nieuport 12 two seaters. I'm guessing that some kind of Nieuport is a possibility but probably not this Christmas.

I agree with the idea of more 2 seaters--both Central Powers and Entente.
Ginger--the Tripe went for about 18.50US, but I just purchased a Revell Camel/Tripe pair for 15US. They say the boxes are opened, but no missing parts. I'm in line for 3 more Tripes, due to sell between 1 to 6 days. Maybe I'll get lucky and pick up another of those.
I also took a plunge and bought a Guillows Nieuport 11 Bebe. I haven't built a wood and paper craft in many years, but I think that this lovely machine might make for a good winter 'large scale' project.

I've said it before, but Heller does a very nice Roland C-II.
If you've got no qualms about ordering from overseas, Luchtvaart HobbyShop in
the Netherlands has a few in stock.

Cheers for that John, I'll give Kingkit abother whirl. RNAS Tripes will add a bit of variety on the wargames table with them bieng so distinctive looking and getting painted a slightly different shade of chocolate brown.

I'd go for a Sop triplane too.
A new, accurate, Nieuport 28. A smaller version of the Roden 1/48 scale kit would be just fine.
More two-seaters, as mentioned above.
A new, accurate, Martin MB-2 (slightly post-war).
An injection molded Caudron G-4 (I think there's a vac kit out there, but I'm not sure if it's available.)
Regards,

This is all good stuff, boys. If the company bosses out there read this forum (and god knows they should) we might have some nifty kits coming along within the next year or so. Just enough time for me to build a new room in which to put the new finished models.
I would like to see a Thomas Morse and better Nieuports. Yes, a decent 28 would be grand!

John
