I second that emotion Ross! I'd particularly like to see someone do U.S. squadron insignias in 1/72.

I haven't got a scan of the decals yet. But they are made by Superscale. Decal No. 72-664.
They have markings for Voss, Jacobs, Gottsch and von Tutschek.
Voss's ones are for his F1. 103/17
The others are for DrIs.

Greetings Flanker; Our own Dan San Abbott submitted drawings to Superscale on contract. They chose to...streamline the image and brighten up the colours. Dan started with the information that Jacobs himself gave to Neal O'Connor, but Superscale wanted to soop up the image so it would sell. At least that was their reasoning. They started by streamlining the blast from the image's mouth. In the images below;L-R
1. Superscale's version, was available in 1/72 & 1/48
2. DML ? Dragon's version ( The best of the lot as far as images and colours go but not available in 1/72.)
3. The Ministry of Small Aircraft Production's Version, was available in 1/72 & 1/48.)
4.A recent artist's rendition.
5. Another artist's rendition.

Also Americal / Gryphon also did a specialty sheet of Jacobs "god of the North wind" in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/28 scale. These are silk screened and benefit from just minor touch up. After all the original was none too pretty after scraping burned castor oil exhaust from the forward fuselage area.

Finally Flanker, the DML (in 1/48 only) matches the colour notations Jacobs gave to Neal O'Connor though the wings may be a little off in the feather tips in the decal. It is easy to fix. In 1/72 the Americal or MSAP versions may still be available.
