The only reason what I'm built Staaken without painting and decal applying was a task of check of joining all parts
I do notice a gap between fusalage en front window. Can anything be done about it? Always quit hard to fill a gap, when clear plastic is onvolved.

Furthermore thanks for sharing!

Greetings, Nico

Question for Alex

Eric:

Greetings! And, welcome to the "drome".

Alex:

I'm curious. What happens without all the underwing support? Is there wing droop? Could the build benefit from some sort of ridge internal support? Steel/brass rods maybe?

I love the looks of this aircraft.

No, of course. But solid wings is so heavy and in future may be biplane box of Giant could be self destroyed if You omitted underwing supports. Of course, these details is a not sample of aesthetycal pleasant, but this is a real help for landing gear - total weight of Giant in scale around 0,7 kg!!!

Answer: gap beetwen the front window and upper panel of the fuselage is just only my fault, I'm not removed very small flashes on the fuselage, where window must been attached. I'm repeated this operation with another set of Staaken (I'm got a couple!!! ) and found that no gap in this place, if you accurately remove very small flashes.
Thanks for this notice, Kitboy!

Thank you, Alex!

Thank you, Alex!

This is precisely the sort of pre-view build that is most helpful; it shows a person only what comes in the box, and exactly how it goes together.
Build reviews that show a person's hard work of painting, filling, polishing and whatnot are great, and very educational; but you've shown the bare bones of the kit parts and their fit, and the process of getting it all together.
It's a huge help.

I've hoped that someone would produce a plastic Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI in 1/72 for decades, there's no other plane I've wanted more.
It looks like Roden not only has come up with a winner in terms of quality, but choice of subject is literally dream come true.

Greetings all;
My source at Squadron says that he thinks that the kit will come with Lozenge. The shipment is on the docks awaiting clearance.

Greetings all; The Staaken has arrived at Squadron Mail Order.

"Dear Stephen: How's everything? I just wanted to let you know that we finally received the new Roden Zeppelin Staaken kit. To our surprise, it includes a rigging diagram! The pre-release sample we originally got did not have one, but I guess it just wasn't ready...Yes, we know about the conflicting prices. (on pages 2 & 5 of the current supplement) Somehow they escaped the eagle eyes of our proofreaders...

*sigh*

I'm waiting here, with every sense tuned to the arrival of the mailman...just because I know that it won't be here for another week or so isn't going to stop me from drooling in anticipation!

Then again, I've waited for this kit since I learned that there was such an animal as a Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI twenty-thirty years ago; a week or more won't kill me...possibly.
