Joseph Jacobs 450/17

Just completed Joseph Jacobs Dr-1 with the devils head on the side. It is the Revell 1/72 kit. Some say the flame is not right, any suggestions?

Lovely clean build, sir--and that's the Revell? Nice touch with the after-market Spandaus...

Same one I am working on at the moment. Mine will have a pilot in the cockpit.

Great build. Saw this on ARC site.

Greetings Kerry Brenstuhl; Nice build. Don't be too concerned about the "flame" though I would say it is close. Please forgive a minor comment. The inner arm for the top wing cross should butt against the first full rib that borders the aileron cut out.

Kerry Brenstuhl, nice job, have you though about using a 1/72 Clerget from a Sopwith Camel kit (do they come with Clergets?)?
Also how about adding the extra braces on the landing gear, these would make a nice touch.

fritz,

I wasn't aware that this particular aircraft was equipped with a clerget and the extra bracing. Thanks.

Don’t forget if you were to make this change you need to use the Camel’s prop.

At one time yes it was using a Clerget. There is a image of this machine with a bullet hole in the prop as a matter of fact.
