130H.P.Clerget Engine All Brass 1/15th Scale

Completed engine on display stand. I was fortunate enough to purchase a reprint of an original engine manual, with a complete parts breakdown showing every part. I wish I could get these for every engine I model.

Layout of major engine components.

Side view of some of the components in place. Note the hand crank that was turned from inside the cockpit.

Close-up view of the cylinder head, note the .010" brass rod return spring.

Beautifully done. I assume much or most of this was turned on a modelers lathe, although the rocker arms have a cast look. Did you get your copy of the manual through the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum?

Dawn Patrol

I purchased the manual at Wright Pattereson Dawn Patrol a few years ago. Yes you are correct that is a cast brass cylinder, the beauty is the return spring was cast in with the rest of the cylinder head. One engine was completely fabricated and the second was of cast components.

Ken- As usual, beautiful. You should post some images of your complete models, especially the brass fuselage Fokker D.VII. I am a fan. Wish I could afford one of your models
