Please educate me on some new resin for Roden Dr.I

I just received, in plain bags with no labels or instructions, three new Cutting Edge resin products: the Dr. I corrected cowling; a set labeled on the packing list as "Dr. I Early Ailerons;" and "Fokker F.1 Conversion for Roden," which appears to be control surfaces and the same corrected cowling. How do I go about making an F.1? Is this done from the D.VI kit?

Also, what is considered an "early" Dr. I which would be appropriate for these ailerons?

Many thanks,
TOM

My bad. Or rather, my stupid lapse. Of course I know what a Fokker F.I is. What I don't know is, since the conversion set from Cutting Edge has just the early ailerons and the corrected cowl, what else, besides deleting the wingtip skids, needs to be done to make a proper F.I from the Roden kit? I understand that not all the few F.I's had the curved tailplane, so I won't have to scratchbuild one, which is good because I don't have the drawings to do it.

But can anyone tell me other details that differ from the Dr. I, and what color this machine was, or were? In know the Baron had one of them, but don't know, and the Osprey Dr.I book is not sure on the subject, whether it had red on it. For example, the cowling, though -- obviously -- it looks to be painted some color in the photo, I would assume it to be red since it's identified as the Baron's own F.I. But that's just a guess, and not even a very educated one at that. I suppose I should take this over to the colors side and ask there.
Thanks,
TOM

All three Fokker F.Is had the "curved" tailplane.

MvR's F.1 102/17 had the standard Fokker "streaked" dark olive camouflage although there remains some argument whether the "streaked" camouflage was over a turquoise blue undercoat or over CDL. Most opinions seems to lean towards CDL but there's evidence for the turquoise as well.

There was apparently no red on 102/17 at all. The cowling was likely dark olive.

At the bottom of page 8 of the Osprey Dr. I Aces book (No. 40), there is a photo of F.1 102/17 that is clearly mostly covered in the streaked scheme. However, the left rear fuselage, which is the only side showing, but is the part closest to the camera, is clearly a solid and, if it's not orthochromatic film, a dark color. Any guesses as to what it is?

The photo was quite obviously shot on a cloudy day and there are no shadows. So this machine, at least, had some other color on it too.

Also, would anyone know, if drawings could be found and a new tailplane scratchbuilt for the Roden kit, would it need new elevators made as well? I'm thinking, as long as I have two of these CE resin revised cowlings and two sets of the original-style ailerons, plus one Roden Dr. I kit, I may as well make an F.I, but I'm hesitant to press on without more references than a couple of crappy photos.
