Squadron's price hike on Roden

Greetings, all!

FWIW, has anyone noticed the 1/48 Roden price hike in the latest Squadron supplement? The kits have jumped about $8.00 or so. What is even stranger is that they are listed elsewhere in the same catalog at the older, lower price.

So, what's THAT all about?

Tom

Tom:
I caught the 1/48 Roden price hike too along with the discrepancies in the prices .It kind of through me off and seeing I wanted the Bristol F2B I just had a little trepidation to trust the price to make an order.

I had heard along with that crazy SALE they had some time ago that the word was they were clearing stock for a major price increase from europe?

I learned a painful and costly lesson like an axium in flying there is no help from the runway behind you, the sky above you nor the fuel remaining in the fuel truck. Often we make the pennywise mistake of feeling the best bargin is the price of the Kit on the shelf we have'nt paid yet. Thinking you will save precious hobby money by NOT spending it, only to find out when you DO get around to getting that KIT you always wanted but weren't ready to build yet that it has either gone way up in price or worse may even be OOP !

A good thing to keep in mind is although these big manufactuers are able to put thousands of Kits out there on the LHS shelves upon release, they are NOT a never ending supply of plastic on demand. My point simply is that even big companies say for instance Revell or Williams Brothers for example, it is a mistake to think they are not is some form a Limited run if not limited lets better say FINITE a definitive amount which eventualy ends and Prices go up not down. What I do is buy everthing I possibly can afford as SOON as it's available. It can always stay in storage in my garage forever, but I can be sure I won't always be able to buy it forever at the store.

Mike

I caught the price differences in the Squadron Supplement also. Wasn't the same kit listed with two prices? I'm pretty sure the Neiuport was one of them. Pretty confusing.

Phillpe , I gotta LOVE YOU !!! Iam actualy rolling on the floor a little with Laughter, which feels good you've brought a smile to my face.

I thought for sure I would receive some "Heat" (comment) for my strong opioion with regard to bargin hunting, hobby sales, and buying habits.

Although instead I got your "Irie" Up over my demonstrated third grade school level of Geography and my mispoken inclusion of Cech and Ukraine co. in the European Union. My aploligies. (ALso I can't Spell either ?)

Seriously, Great to hear from you !! Now with a lull in larger scale WWI ACFT releases, I don't suppose your comments came during a well deserved short break in your hard work to release your Alb DV? Please?

Yours truely Mike

Et oui Mike...

Me too, I love you...
See I have a post .... regarding the same subject with an other topic about Dr1, and if you know between lines... you will understand me...

Yes the DV is comming... but as I changed my moulds-makers it is more long
Also, I am working on an other 1.32 german two-seaters ... and of course... on an 1.48 Gotha...
But I am a very small Cy... and I want stay like this.... I am coming from an ex-great french company... and myself, I don't have curiousity in this way...
My pleasure is to sculpt newmodels and know that some friends like them... and take pleasure to build these...

Life is a simple thing.... Children, models, friends, foods... and women.... very simple....

Your philosophy looks almost perfect to me Philippe! Very slightly different for me: woman, singular (wife).

My nine year old daughter has budding artist skills and surprised me a year ago when she wanted to build a model aeroplane "one like yours Daddy" ie. a biplane. So she made a Spad XIII and painted the five colour camoflage all on her own. And very well done it was too!

What is the German two seater you are working on Philippe?

Secret....

Secret.... I dont will like to see it coming.....in an other collection.... But .. be sure that I will tell you, the day of DV issueing...

Yes I said... Women....

My sons.... ( I have two.... ) never build models, I have a daughter, never build models....
But exept.... a woman, my wife.... We are all Skydivers.... ( but to be honest... for me it is a long time ago...now, my second sons Julien, jump for me... he is a professional Commando-paratrooper.... ) Jerome the oldest after a philosophical master is now manager for aparisian restaurant... and Julie my daughter... Ph.d in medieval-history

They are looking my models with a great..... condescension....
That's life...

Also I take life very simple....
Children, for skydiving together... sometime to speak cooking and middle age art....
Models.... to be egoist... and stay with you.....
Friends.... for speak of all things... models, foods, women.....
Foods... for to be with my friends and speak, models, foods and....
and........... for live...
And Live... for love my friends, foods, medieval, models, paratroops ( in other live I was.... also) women and each day given by the Lord...

Also... I love to joke....
