Nice expressions of the pilot's face (even without paint yet)

Many of us will be waiting for the end of your vacations, Milorg...

Best regards from the sunny Spain!

Hello Guys

A small update on my Morane diorama, sorry no plane update this time but at least the groundwork is finished. Making a winter scene was much more challenging than expected. The look of the icy water was actually a result after a big fiasco using polyester resin. After pooring resin over the painted surface I changed my mind and started to remove the resin with a big brush, it turned into a big mess and the painted surface started to crack up. I thought the diorama was history After a few panic minutes with some white paint and micro balloons, it started to look like ice..

Cheers
Per Olav

Simply brilliant, your work is a master effort. It encourages me as I start work in armor dioramas.

Thanks guys appreciate your feedback

I'l keep you updated on the progress, painting the Morane is next.
A question, I have noticed that the engine covling and spinner is either painted red or black. Is there any comments about this? (Sorry my knowledge and reference material about ww1 planes is still very limited)

Cheers
Per Olav

ps, CincinnatiRedlegs, I'm also an armor diorama modeller, but now I think I have seen the light, WW1 planes rules!

Well guys a disaster struck when I was giving the ready painted Morane a wash for the weathering. The paint got an reaction and started to crack up. I tryed to remove the rest of the paint but it was beyond repair
I was about to find a new hobby when I took a look at my kit stack and noticed a forgoten Polikarpov kit. After som dry testing I thought I would give the Polikarpov a try.
(At this point I was not very keen on starting on a second Morane kit)

Sorry about the Polikarpov, I know this is a WW1 site, but I had to share the tragic event with my Morane!

Cheers
Per Olav

A shame indeed...perhaps there is something to salvage. Still, the I-16 looks splendid...Russian children instead of French...nicely saved!

To me the morane as it is there would look good as a crash victim anyway, can it not be rescued with a smooth down and a lick of paint and a new cockpit or something ?
