Seaplanes

I'm trying to put a list together of seaplane kits out there in in 1/48 - any Nationality and any medium ,obviously I have a few down already but I'm sure a few of you will come up with some that I'm not even aware of.

I've not been doing much of the kit thing over the last couple of years and I'm sure I've missed a few!

Thanks

In 1/48? Your list is not going to be very long.

You probably have the Eduard kits listed? Albatros W.4, Hanriot HD 2 floatplane and Flashback Hansa-Brandenburg W.29. The Hansa kit is OOP, but probably available through ebay and other such sources.

The Copper State Models have 3 interesting kits:

Czech Omega has got this one out:

Sierra Scale has one Russian and two German seaplanes as vacs:

These are the ones I know!

Aside from what's already been listed, Lone Star models has several resin and vac kits(partly resin, partly vac).

Special Hobby has the float plane version of the Sopwith Tabloid as well. It's called the Schneider Cup something or other.

The Omega kit looks cool, but it's an aweful lot of money for a small plane.

The Copper State kits are works of art and turn out great if you have the experience needed to build them.

Hello Jager1,

Sierra Scale has the Grigorovitch M.5, Hansa Brandenburg W.12 and Hansa Brandenburg W.29.

Best regards from Belgium

Yeah! I forgot the Special Hobby Sopwith Schneider kit! And now that you mention it, I remember that there was an early Eduard release of Sopwith Baby, too. It's been OOP for a long time, but might still be available from ebay and other 2nd hand sources.

Good news ! :-)

Friedrichshafen FF33 is coming from Polish company Techmod (1/48 scale, plastic, "long-run"). A few different versions/boxes - first will be Polish FF33E ...
