How did you do it? Looks amazing mate.

I use an under coat of white first then with a stiffish brush paint near dry Yellow Ochre oil paint over the white base for the paneling effect.

R U Kiddin"?

IMO, that's one of the best renditions of plywood panels that I've seen! Great work.

Very nice wood grain effect. Whenever I do a wood grain fuselage it is so hard for me to do much more than just adding basic markings. I figure 'why cover up the beautiful wood?'

As for markings on an Albatros D.V it just depends on what you have available for use in aftermarket or kit decals.

Aero Master did dome great Jasta 59 black cat on a white band bordered in black,

Jasta 37 - Waldhausen's star and crescent.

No decals available :
Jasta 17 had some great markings on varnished wood fuselages. My favorite was the D.V Gisi with the black raincloud and lightning bolt. Others in Jasta 17 where "blitz" and a "sunburst."

Jasta 32b had some interesting markings.

Jasta 37 Udet used one with "LO"

Jasta 4 wound ribbon.

Jasta 6 Hans Adam's War ribbon bird before Aug. 1917.

There are others but its 5AM.

It's coming along beautifully, how did you paint and weather the engine?

Can't wait to see more!

Beautiful work. Great attention to detail. Love the additional wiring especially from the control column to the guns. Might just have to try that myself!!
