G'day guys - thanks for the good comments. Yes the buckles are from "Bob's Buckles" - these buckles are great! They are simply twisted wire with a small loop at the end. All I did was drill holes part way through the wings to take the buckles, glue them in place and then glue the elastic between the buckles (superglue accelerator made this job very quick). The buckles are a soft enough metal to allow them to be bent a little to line up with the direction of the rigging which is a big bonus. This was the first time I had tried this method as I was looking for a way to rig without having to drill through wings, which leads to having to re-paint bits of the wings in situ after rigging (which I hate). I think next time I will paint the buckles black, they look a little stark to me in bare metal, although the pictures tend to exaggerate the size a little... overall I can definately recommend these buckles as a very easy way to do rigging.

Bob - feel free to use the pics!

Wow, Brad. Another super build from the Master! Thanks for the turnbuckle info. That'll help me out on my next!

Hello Brad,
Thanks for the pics.

I find that using the 1/72's on 1/48's is perfectly OK. The only thing you need do is pad out the shank of the buckle with white glue or similar. The 1/72's are much easier to work with IMO.

Buckle on my friends
