SPAD VII & XIII Plastic Model Kits
Bonjour !
I'm looking for a realistic and detailed plastic model kit of a SPAD VII (Shigeno N26 / #3 Type) and SPAD XIII (Guynemer N3 /#2 Type) (Scale: Any from 1/72 to 1/24):
Would you be so kind as to advise me on some brands, references? Thank you very much!
Regards,
Tsuru

Spads
Tsuru,
MAC and Special Hobby have both presented us with Spad VIIs, in 1/72 and 1/48 respectively. Eduard has a XIII in 1/72 and Dragon made one in 1/48.
All are major improvements over the offerings we have had in the past. Try Hyperscale and/or Internet Modeler for reviews. you will probably have to make the decal for WAKADORI but the stork and the stripe as well as the number three shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Best regards,
Terry

If having both in constant scale is not a problem then the Hobbycraft 1/32nd SPAD XIII is excellent! By the way, IIRC,so far no one has the Early version SPAD XIII wing, you will have to convert for this version.

PS: Roden has announced intentions to do a SPAD VII in 1/32nd in the somewhat near future

The Eduard 1/72 scale Spad 13 is, by all accounts, the best kit in that scale. The DML/Dragon 1/48 Spad 13 is very, very nice.
I have the Dragon kit, and I plan to get the Eduard kit.
Regards,

MAC also has a 72nd Dux built SPAD on skis with Finnish markings...an interesting bird, although maybe not as common as most...I think it's a SPAD VII..

Hmmm, why not the old Revell Spad XIII? Should be some cheap ones on EBAY. Seems that was the best of the old 1/28 line.
