A real Pain

Firstly please forgive a bitch on the forum but as a returning modeller I have noticed some good and bad changes in the hobby.
Firstly the mouldings have imptoved greatly in the last sixteen years, but why oh why do the manufacturers do things like have seperate cylinders for radial engines.I am currently going crazy painting and attaching them to a special hobby kit.
Included in the kit was a very reasonable moulded radial that dosent fit the cowl.
I also model railways and this thing of making things overly complicated is creeping in there also.
The forum is a great place to find out information on WW1 so please forgive my bitching.

Cheers

Graham

Hello Graham,
Welcome!

Market forces at work here m8. It's the way modelling is going. Sadly, I can't see it encouraging armies of new modelers to the genre. Over engineering and complicating the building process ( I speak for people like me - not the Gods on here ;-) ) can have a negative effect on the newcomer/average builder.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in favour of super detailed models... I like seeing what the Gods can produce...

But!!!! There is good news. With manufacturers like Eduard & Roden producing kits that look superb OUT OF THE BOX, hope is restored
