Forum 10, me 0.
I see so much nice work on this site it makes me smile, but it also makes me realize a fact that hits me square in the jaw every time I see it. My work sucks compared to the work posted on here. I am thankful that this site is up and running, and that there are so many wonderful contributors for me to learn from. My 48 years, although not old, have caught up to me in more ways than I care to admit. You guys are so knowledgable and factual about the aircraft. All I know is I have always loved the design of these planes, but never had the time to research each strut and color. I thank each one of you modelers for sharing your knowledge and information. You are good teachers. I can only hope someday I can build a kit worthy of the site. Onward and upward, as they say, but with me it's more like an envious crawl.

Just paint everything red.
Or brown.
But never green.
Ever.

You may never be an "Uber modeler" but then again most of us aren't. We help one another. But good references can never be gone without if you want to do a build well. I don't take myself or anyone too seriously. Take every chance you have to learn and Model On!

Just do wot we all do....
glue 'em, paint 'em and mither every bugger that pikes 'em off about the intrepid birdmen of WW1.
Idiot's like us keep their memory alive every time we take the lid offen a model box.

I think that we all take this art thing too seriously. Why cant we just enjoy what we do and let it go at that.In the end it really doesnt matter, just be creative and follow your instincts. If doors seem to open to you easily then I beleive that you are on the right trail. If you do art only for money or ego or recognition you are bound to be disappointed. Art is none of that. I beleive that art is that little creative voice in all of us .Artists are just people who have had the courarge to try,to risk being a beginner again,to conquer the fear of failure.Art gives us permission to be children again and see the world in a different light. Anyway thats my story and i am sticking with it. Now goodnite from this 63 year old artist/child.Cheers! John.
I found this quote from John Reid and it seemed to fit the title of my post. It also put things into perspective for me and made me feel better about not being so anal about certain historical facts (not there's anything wrong with that). So, thanks John I am now going to do what Stephen said and "Model On"
