Americal/Gryphon Company

Greetings all,

This might be a redundant topic and if so please excuse my ignorance. Concerning AG decals, does anyone know if they are content on just letting the company fade off into oblivion, or are there plans of selling? I know there is a lot to this, but if they dont want to continue with the company, at least sell what they have so all their lovely work can be shared by everyone and future builders alike. I dont know how much it would take but it doesnt even sound like they are wanting to sell. Anyone have any inside info?

All we know is that it was clsoed and no one was told if he intended to sell it off. So I would say it's gone.

Ross,

I know this is relative, but does that make any sense? People that are dedicated to the WWI aviation subject, go to great lengths to acheive historically correct decals, treat customers with great care throughout the years, just up and leave all customers to go elsewhere. I am going to be direct here and say that does nothing positive for their legacy. Although it sounds like they dont care what I or anyone else thinks. Maybe I should contact them and make them an offer they cant refuse.

I understand what you say but it is Dr. Merrill's company and he can do as he likes. There might be other reasons that are very personal to him as to why he did what he did.

I also understand that he is not answering emails etc.

Reason for closing

I do not want to state on the Forum the reason for Dr. Merrill's closing of Americal Gryphon. Suffice to say that the reason was personal. I ask all of you to please be patient and not disturb him at this time.
