Maybe chisel out the plastic mesh affect and then cut the PE mesh to fit into where the plastic came out?? Juts a thought.

Absolutely beautiful work! My small scale work is pathetic compared to yours I'll continue to follow your build with great interest. I'll stay with 1/4 scale.... at least then I can see the parts!
