I picked up my first one today from the local hobby shop. The ailerons on the upper wing were indeed dinged, but not terribly. But the whole upper wing has a nasty anhedral that matches the lower wing's dihedral. It's warped.

The sprue carrier is nipped off short of the wingtips. If they let it be longer than the wingtips, I daresay the tips should survive shipping.

Buzz, it's been ages so the details are fuzzy, but it seems to me all my emails from my personal account (@comcast.net) got rejected, but my work address (@reddshell.com) worked fine.

Dodgy leading edge

I picked mine up from a store and the tips were barely dinged, but the upper L/E!!!! It was a switchback resulting in exaggerated undercamber in the centre section. A bit more than a gentle bending job so I sliced a couple of mills(that's 1/16'' in old money)off the leading edge and let in a length of brass tube. Still needed a fair bit of Milliput under the C/S and a lot of sanding but I've got a dead flat wing. Now I just have to make a rad!

I picked up the Pfalz D.III about a week or so ago & to my surprise it came with 2 perfectly formed upper wings attached to heavy cardboard supports!

Thank You Roden!

I would like to buy one but I fear the seller here would still have the first lot of stock with the damaged wing tips...

Ross,

Give Ivan a try, kadawr13@tlen.pl
at $37.80 US pretty good price & he is aware of the wing tip problem!
Maybe that is why I ended up with two complete wings sets?

He takes pay pal also!

NKR here downunder has them for $48 AUD. It migth be worth the risk. At least Roden are good at sending out replacements.

The USPS rasied their shipping rates and makes buying from the USA well out of my reach most of the time.

Ross,

Radoslaw Kemski (Ivan) is in Poland, drop him an e-mail at kadawr13@tlen.pl
He charged me $12.00 to ship both the Pfalz D.III & the Albatross D.III to the USA.
