Help.....Fokker D.VII (ALB) Rigging Color?

Hi,
I am new here. First post. I am building the Eduard Fokker D.VII Albatros Production kit.
I read here that the Rigging wire was un-painted on the actual aircraft and would weather to a dull gray. Do we agree with this? What about the Turnbuckles? were they painted or left in there natural color? If painted what color should they be?
Thanks in advance,
John

In 1/48 scale for short runs (like you see on the Fokker D.VII) I use a stainless steel wire at about .008 thou. For longer runs I used invisible (smoke coloured) sewing thread - monofilament 5-8 mil thick. Find it in any sewing department of a store. metal is ok but in my view the rigging should be a subtle extension of the model not the main focus.

Hi Stephen Lawson,

These Fokkers are fine looking machines!
I have a hard time refering to this pair as models!

Thanks for sharing,
FOKKERJ

Is that battle damage on the port side upper wing on the Raben machine?

Thanks FokkerJ for more see the reviewhere.
And the build article here.

Actually that is a former raben jasta 18 machine that has been turned over to jasta 43. And yes I did simulate damage there.
