Scratchbuilding 100 %

Hello John Reid

From my part , After building some Guillows'aircraft , All my models are 100 % scratchbuilding (1/16) using balsa ,and all kind of materials -I find the plans
on internet and can realize accurate models thanks to a lot of documentation and research (which ,may be ,are as interesting as the construction itself!)-Sure the model i built are far away behind the quality of your's but the most important is to make something about "nothing "specially
when you are a such an aviation lover as i am (ww1 first but WW2 too)
Here is one of my model (morane type N "Bullet")
Please be indulgent! lol

Cordialement
Bruno

Hi Bruno! I am glad that you pointed that out. What you are doing is something completely different!Scratchbuilding an aircraft such as Ken Foran's wonderful work is just not the same thing. Most dioramist couldn't care less about whether is it scratchbuilt or not?The important thing here is the "storyline".Sort of like what a movie director does, bring all the elements together and tell the story.I have been at this one diorama for 6 years now,can you imagine how long it would take to scratchbuild everything? At my age I just don't have the time. And I have lots more stories to tell!
Cheers! John.

Nice "Bullet" Froggy

I like your build very much, and appreciate the dedication that goes into such a project, i.e. research, etc...

What scale is your build, and what other models have you realized?

12 WW1 scratchbuilding 100 %

-MORANE N BULLET
-SPAD XIII
-NIEUPORT 10
-NIEUPORT 28
-HANRIOT HD1
-BLERIOT 11 BIPLACE MILITARY VERSION

Not necessary to say that all these planes begin to take a lot of place in my
desk room at home (average 50 cm span and 35 to 45 cm long for each plane!)-Several planes are not perfect and need to be improved (cockpit,instruments..) But seing all these colorfull planes on shelves is great for me-(but not for my Wife.... lol)
When the opportunity presents itself,i'ill ask my daughter to make some photos with her digital camera

Saluto!

BRUNO
