A sweet little build there Harry.
A sensational job, especially considering that the whole thing must be about 120mm or so wing span maximum!

Cheers,

Hugh

Thanks for the kind words, folks.

1/72 scale has become much more of a challenge than it was when I was young. I resist shifting to 1/48 for several reasons; I have spent a lifetime amassing a collection of unbuilt kits (hundreds), decal sheets, resin, P.E., white-metal accessories, etc., also the local group of enthusiasts whom I wargame with on Thursday nights use 1/72 scale exclusively. Finally the variety of available types in 1/72 is still much greater than other scales, though this situation is slowly being rectified.

My eyes are not as sharp as they used to be and thank the Lord for magnifying lamps and "reading glasses". Also it sure seems like I'm just not as dextrous as I used to be. Manipulating small parts is a more daunting task than it once was.

Finding the time to spend at the model bench is sometimes difficult as well. Being a husband, father, and wage-earner these days can leave little time for hobbies- especially when one has several completely unrelated hobbies, all competing for the same scarce leisure hours!

But the rewards of time at the bench are still just as great if not more so. The time spent building is still more therapeutic than frustrating.

BTW, I took a "stereo pair" set of photos of the little Pfalz on the bench. Unfortunately I cannot reduce the file size sufficiently to post it here without resolution suffering too much. But if you PM your email address to me I'd be glad to send you the image file. You don't need a stereo viewer to see the 3-D effect; I can 'free-fuse' the images right off the computer screen quite effectively. About 4 people in 5 can do this, so don't feel badly if you can't, some people's brains are hard-wired such that it's not possible. Those people must use the stereo viewer (similar to the old Viewmaster toy). But most should be able to just cross their eyes and rotate their head until the images merge, and the model will pop-out in 3-D. Use the same viewing distance that you usually use when viewing your computer screen.

Great job. I wish I had talent like that.

Does anyone have info on this plane? I googled it and could only find pictures. I could not fins any history on it.

The Pfalz monoplanes were essentially license-built copies of the Morane G/H pre-war design. Alfred Eversbusch, owner of Pfalz Werks, stated that after the war he actually paid every penny of those royalties to MoS!

There isn't much information online. See my first post, I mention the printed references I used. Jack Herris' book is excellent.
