My Gallery
Question

Great stuff! I really like it.
How did you do the green grass poking through here and there?
Cheers! John.

Brad,

She turned out wonderfully. I love your woodgrain on this one. You nailed the deep heavy shellac look for this marine bird. I know that lozenge took a lot of time matching the ribtapes. And your weathering is always nice, subtle, and perfectly placed. Plus your first attempt at a figure turned out very good also. Your perseverance definitely paid off. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, Brad,

Tell me if you've heard this before: "Well Done!"

I must admit to a small touch of despondency when I saw the photos of your repair work. That looked better
than most of my normal work!

Cheers,

TP

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the kind words guys! It was all of your encouragement that kept me going on this build during those frustrating times when it was looking like the kit was going to end up in the bin!

John - The grass is the stuff you find at model railway stores just applied in small tufts at the intersections between planks. The application was quite straight forward - I grabbed some small tufts with my tweezers dipped the ends into some superglue, and applied to the base. I would then use the tweezers to fashion the shape of the tufts - not all of it sticks, but enough to get the effect across

Thanks again guys!

Brad,
Stunning!

That just about sums it up.

As always Brad, excellent stuff! Your research is great and your handiwork - scratch that "craftsmanship" won out over the problems you faced. She is a jewel.

God question Iwik - I still have two 1/32 consignment builds I need to get stuck into for fellow forum member PC777 - I may get stuck in to that 1/32 Roden Fokker F.I kit in Voss' markings for him next me thinks .

Oh, and thanks for your kind words

Hello, Brad,

A quick decal question. On this build you used decals for the camouflage pattern along the fuselage upper surface. That appears to be quite a compound curve. Were you able to use one piece of decal and then trim fore and aft along the fuselage sides, or did you apply the decals one panel at a time, matching the pattern as you progressed? Or, if neither, how'd you do it?

Cheers,

TP
