Well, your model corresponds well with my "vision" of this machine. Think you sold me one
Your figure I like a lot. For a first oil painting this is outstanding, and I am primarily a figure man. I am glad you started with a limited palette and modified from that. That way one learns most about colours. One does not need 40 oil colours to paint figures, though it's fun to collect them

Excellent!!!!!
I like the colors, the weathering and the representation of the leather around the cockpit. The decals look really nice they appear to be painted!
Do you have notes about the color mix (colors used, proportions)
Cheers,
Claudio

Ah, my pantheon is restored!
Very nice result there Brad.
I would be more than happy with your paint work on the figure... I am yet to even try to paint one.
Cheers,
Hugh

Thanks for the kind wors guys
Kalt - the colour mixes were definately nothing scientific - the lilac was mainly Gunze Purple with some light gull grey mixed probably about 70%/30% with a dash of red. The green was mainly a mixture of Gunze Light Green (H319) with again a few drops of light gull grey and I think I even but in a drop or two of olive green... nothing exacting, I was just looking for something that could pass as light mossy green! The underside was simply white with a couple of drops of prussian blue, with the emphasis onkeeping it fairly pale.
Cheers,
BC

I Do believe he's got it!
Brad Cancian:
You are the first as fas as I know that has got it right on!. The lilac/mauve is subdued, and yet is dominant over the mossy green. Very nice, it looks great. Although, I think that is your standard.
I have wanted to build a 1/16 scale model of the Ju.D.I for a very long time. I have considered building out of plastinc sheet and carefully gluing half round plastic strips to create the corrugations. The wing is the problem. It is a very interesting airplane. Some day I'll solve the problem, then I'll make it.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Many thanks Dan-San, I feel particularly happy that I managed to get the nod from yourself that colours are in the right ball park!! When you make a start on your D.I project, make sure you post some pics here!
Thanks again,
BC

Another fine build, Brad. I like the colouring also.
Thanks for showing us, it's the best reference when I am going to build this beautiful and special plane.
I think the figure is beautiful, and it really adds to the scene.
Thanks
Kofoed

Roden Junkers D.I
You really did a beautiful job!!! As just an FYI, the March, 2008 issue of Fine Scale Modeler features a review of the very same kit. IMHO, yours looks much better than the one depicted in the review.
